Help Me Choose: User or Guardian?
This app creates a safe, curated YouTube experience — no autoplay
black holes, no random junk. But first, are you here to
watch or manage?
👤 User
A User is someone who watches videos. That’s it. But
how the app behaves depends on how that User was created:
-
User who signs up directly: During sign-up, you’ll
be asked for an Unlock Code. Enter it, and you get
full control — change channels, update settings, even manage
content. Don’t enter it? You’re in limited mode.
-
User created by a Guardian: You won’t even see the
unlock option. No settings, no channel management, no funny
business. Just safe viewing of whatever the Guardian approved.
Think: locked-down, no escape.
Bottom line: Direct sign-up with the code = control. Guardian-created
= locked kid mode.
🛡️ Guardian
A Guardian doesn’t watch videos — they manage who
does. You’re the curator, the gatekeeper, the algorithm slayer.
- Create and manage Users
- Control which channels are allowed
- Organize “Channel Packs” by theme
- Cannot use the app for watching content — just controlling it
Need a nudge?
If you’re setting this up for someone else — you’re a
Guardian. If you’re watching videos and got an
unlock code — sign up as a User and you’ll be in
charge. If you were added by someone else — you’re a
User, but you’re riding shotgun with the doors
child-locked.
TL;DR: Want control? Sign up as a User with the Unlock Code. Want to
control others? You’re a Guardian. Want to just watch safely? Get
added by a Guardian and enjoy the bubble wrap.
